Climb 4’261 steps, at a maximum slope of 89%, and gain 780 meters of elevation over just 1,3 kilometers, fully equipped with your firefighter’s gear.

The 4’261 steps of the route follow cable car rails and water pipelines leading to a hydroelectric power station. The average slope is 71%, with a maximum slope of 89%.

Refreshment station is located at the top cable car station.

The route is marked and secured with trained mountain rescue personnel.

Descent to departure area is done individually by marked paths or cable car free run when the race is finished.

Bibs distribution

Bibs are distributed only in the race village on the day of the race. Bibs will not be sent in advance by post.

Please let us know beforehand if someone else will be picking up your bib and race packet for you.

Participants’ backpacks and spectators transportation to the finish line area.

Challenge briefing

Attendance is mandatory. No briefing, no party.

Challenge begins

First firefighter starts, followed by the next in 30 seconds intervals.

Last participant reaches the finish line.

Award ceremony

Awarding of Certificates of Merit followed by a late-night celebration.

Regulations

ATTENTION!!!

It is strictly forbidden to get on the race track any time of the year, except as part of the race! Failing to comply with this request will lead to an immediate disqualification of the identified athletes and thus to a prohibition to start the race; complaints will not be accepted. The owner and the managing company of the structures are declining any responsibility in case of accidents resulting from not respecting of this rule.

Spectators are advised to watch the race either from the start, from the road in one of the several places where it crosses the route, or the area of the top cable-car station.

The event takes place at the base of the Ritom funicular railway in Quinto, Ticino and its surrounding area.
